HSR ICYMI 🍒・₊✧ ₊

Time for my favorite part of the week, ICYMI!!!

ICYMI ₊♡₊˚ 🍒・₊✧ ₊

♡ This Week’s Mantra: The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away.

♡ 3 Questions to Ask Yourself This Week to Help You Find your Gift:
 What are you passionate about?
 What’s your expertise?
 What’s your superpower?

♡ On Thinking You’re Too Old: ICYMI, Kristen Faulkner is the Harvard graduate, former VC who just became the FIRST American to win a Gold Medal in the women’s road race. The craziest part? She only started cycling after graduating Harvard and only started pursuing full time after quitting VC in 2021. You’re not too late.

♡ My Current Playlists: Fun fact about me… I was a promoter back in college and booked everyone from Deadmau5 to Alesso and Swedish House Mafia so I love listening to 1+ hour-long electronic mixes when I work out and work. This is my current favorite and actually helps me concentrate. If not that, I listen to manifestation music, and this is my forever favorite playlist. Speaking of playlists, here is the summer playlist I made for Lucky #3.

♡ My Productivity Obsessions: The two biggest hacks I learnt from Slow Productivity that have continued to elevate my productivity and decrease my anxiety are:

  1. I now have a holding tank and a 3-project max active list. The secret is that I can never bring something from the holding tank over to the active project list until something is complete and off the active list.

  2. I can only do one project a day. A project is something that requires multiple tasks to accomplish it. I limit tasks to 10 (or try to) in addition to the one project.

♡ Life Updates: I’m in the hottest, smartest, richest place of my entire life, and I’m obsessed with it. But I’m not allowed to say that though, right? Good thing I always do the opposite of what I’m told, except when it comes from Lucky #3 (because our communication is so healthy and I like to do what he wants). In other news, I never thought I could go back to living out of a suitcase (I used to fly back and forth to LA from Toronto every 2 weeks for a year before I moved full time!) and I love it again. In the past 8 days, I have flown from Altea, Spain to London, England, to LA for Dash Hudson, to the Hamptons to launch Nudestix STAX, and back to LA for 4 more days before I escape to Muskoka and the east coast. Lucky #3 even managed to send me flowers during that time period from across the world using Bouqs (my favorite nationwide flower delivery service). I managed to go viral on LinkedIn and TikTok during that time for my prediction of who will buy Summer Fridays, meet with HSR’s first official advisor (who is a secret for now…), and start and finish my favorite fiction book of 2024, linked here.

OH and my two fav purchases this week:
the perfect summer beige linen work event dress for under $90
the best activewear set with a 20% discount using HSRYOS

The Best Story of AI and Creators Yet…

Is anyone else tired of hearing about the impact of AI on creators and brands’ social media strategies?

Except it matters, and it’s what has captured the attention of today’s most relevant beauty brands (like Rare Beauty and Summer Fridays) and my own. So, if you run a brand or are a marketing girlie, here’s a story I learned at the Dash Hudson AI and Creator Event this past week in LA and why you need to pay attention…

First, it’s time to stop predicting the future because it actually lies in the past. It’s why we’re seeing Summer Fridays roll out the franchise of their best-selling Jet Lag Mask into an eye cream and Nudestix expand their best-selling Sunkissed franchise into an eye pencil and additional shades.

But what about bringing back a legacy product that launched before most of us were born? Thanks to the power of TikTok, Clinique has a new #1 lipstick: The Black Honey Almost Lipstick from 1989. You can’t find it in stores, and it’s not because the brand stopped producing it—it’s viral on TikTok. What would have taken Clinique months to mobilize a GTM strategy with campaign imagery, advertising, and content took 3 minutes.

They used Dash Hudson’s AI social listening tool and creator dashboard to find the creators pushing the trend, deeply connecting with their audience, and had the ability to negotiate deals with them directly to whitelist and use their content to re-launch the shade and take advantage of a naturally occurring phenomenon.

And now, they’re using Dash Hudson’s AI and creator tool to launch their franchise extension into a Black Honey Cheek and Eye.
